When I started a nonprofit seventeen years ago, I had little to no money. I had no staff or volunteers, office space, or office equipment, but I did have passion, faith, and determination. Fast forward several years later, I was able to build a seven-figure nonprofit organization with five different locations, but it was not without mistakes along the way. I don't have time to talk about all my mistakes, but I will share one big mistake with you. I was too close to the problem to see where I was stuck. I needed a clear path forward, but I kept going without one. Needless to say, a mistake like that can cost you dearly. Trust me on that.
